How to use your magnetic belt on rocks in Crisis Caverns

Hey there, Poptropicans! Today I've got some Poptropica Worlds Tips n’ Tricks for you! I'm going to show you how to use your magnetic belt in Crisis Caverns to move rocks around and pull yourself up towards rocks. Ready? Here we go!

First off, you have to actually get your magnetic belt. To do this, find the elk antlers that Ranger Rick asked you to recover. Bring them back to Rick and he’ll give you a Junior Ranger badge. Then show off your badge to a couple of brainy scientists (they're hanging out on the way to Old Reliable), and they'll give you the magnetic belt!

Now what to do with that belt? Head on over to Crispin Cave. Your first chance to use your magnetic belt is to help out the ladies who are stuck in the cave. After that, you’ll use the belt to pull yourself up to another level in the same cave! Watch this video clip to learn how:

To pull or push a rock, use your mouse to click and hold on the rock to drag it. Keep in mind that it doesn't matter how close or far you are to the rock -- if you can see it, you can drag or push it!

To get pulled up to a rock, click and hold on the rock and you will be gravitated towards it. There might be some times you have to jump in the air to click on the rock and be gravitated towards it.

I hope these tips and tricks help you make your way through Crisis Caverns!

Play Poptropica Worlds now and have fun!

Poptropica Tips and Tricks: More oxygen on S.O.S. Island

Thanks to a few new features on Poptropica, it turns out that you can play S.O.S. Island in a whole new way, if you just follow a couple of easy steps.

First, play through the bonus quest. When you do, you'll get a deep-sea diving suit that lets you stay underwater for much longer than usual. Next, restart the Island while you're still wearing the diving suit.

Now, when you start playing the primary quest again, you'll have way more oxygen, and can spend more time exploring the depths! You can even play a little ditty on the piano, as in the picture above.

There's always more to explore on Poptropica, so get out there and dive deep!

Money Ladder: Meet the experts

Very few players can make it to the top of the Money Ladder without help. That's why Poptropica Members can call on three experts for help while playing the game.

The Starlet is most knowledgeable about pop culture: music, movies, and the world of Poptropica.

The Professor is the one to ask about factual subjects like history and language.

The Athlete, of course, knows the most about sports.

Each one has a specialty, so make sure you choose the right expert for the job. Choose the wrong expert for the topic, and they're likely to get it wrong.

With the help of the experts, maybe you too can make it to the top of the Money Ladder!

Hold it right there!

Have you ever wished you could freeze the action in Poptropica, so that you could read a line of dialogue, or look a little longer at a cool graphic? Well, you're in luck!

We've added a pause button to the upper-lefthand corner of your Poptropica game screen that lets you stop and resume your game at any time by clicking on it. For even faster pausing, you can use the F8 button on your keyboard.

Happy pausing!

Poptropica Tips and Tricks: Mastering your ninja powers

In the course of playing through Red Dragon Island on Poptropica, your ninja training will teach you a few things. Like how to wall jump.

And how to throw a throwing star.

But a true ninja master will figure out that these moves can be combined.

Throwing stars (and smoke bombs, for that matter) from your perch high up on a wall can be the difference between success and failure when you infiltrate the samurai fortress. Use your skills wisely!

Poptropica Tips and Tricks: The Slap Jack fake-out

One of the games on Wild West Island is a version of the card game Slap Jack. It follows the standard rules: you and your opponents take turns dealing one card into the center pile. When somebody puts down a Jack, the first player to slap the pile wins the cards. You win when all of your opponents have run out of cards. Sounds pretty simple, right?

Well, it is, except for one thing: the fake-out.

When you're dealing a Jack from your pile, you can bluff. Slide the card only partway to the center of the table, then pull it back, and there's a chance one of your opponents might slap the pile anyway. If they do, you get a card from their draw pile.

But be careful! Your opponents will try to fake you out, too. The same rule applies: if you slap the pile before the Jack is placed, you'll lose a card to the player who tricked you.

Good luck out there. As with everything you'll do on Wild West Island, the stakes are high.

Poptropica Tips and Tricks: Reload!

A lot of Poptropica Members are getting ready to journey to Wild West Island this weekend. Wild West Island is one of our most varied adventures to date, with a lot of different mini-games to enjoy. Here's a quick tip that should help you get through one of them, the shooting contest, with flying colors.

Whether you're using the pea shooter or the spud gun, you'll have five shots available before you have to reload (by pressing that big ol' button at the top of the screen). So watch how many shots you have left. If you don't, you'll still get a helpful reminder that you need to reload once you've run out.

But here's the trick: Sometimes, it makes more sense to reload before you're out of ammo. If your opponent is looking at some targets that have already been hit, take the opportunity to reload, even if you've only fired a shot or two. That way, when you find a batch of new targets, you'll have all the ammo you need. You won't have to waste valuable time reloading while your opponent shoots them out from in front of you.
