Thanks, Mr. Kinney!

Jeff Kinney with Poptropica Lego Set

Did you know Poptropica was created by the one and only Jeff Kinney, author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series?! It's true!

Since it's Poptropica's birthday month we thought it's the perfect time to let Mr. Kinney know how much Poptropica means to everyone. Share your favorite Poptropica memories, write a letter to Mr. Kinney, create fan art, or even post a video on YouTube (with your parent's permission!) and we'll share them here on the blog and with Mr. Kinney himself!

The deadline is September 20th so get creating! #ThanksKinney

  4. I've been playing Poptropica for 5 years, since I was 7 years old. Even now when I play Poptropica the music takes me back to those summers I used to spend playing Poptropica. It's like the soundtrack of my childhood. I'm 12 years old now, and I still play Poptropica and am SO glad that Poptropica won't be lost to time when Flash is discontinued. Thank you, Jeff Kinney, for making this awesome game, and making sure that Dizzy Thunder keeps jumping from island to island forevermore! Long live Poptropica!!! #ThanksKinney

  5. THANK YOU MR. JEFF KINNEY!!! You created an awesome game. I can safely say we are all extremely glad you made poptropica!!! Also, your awesomeness has given me an idea for a new island! I call it, Curse of the Black Cats island. I drew out the designs for it already, but I kind of wanted permission from the creator (cough, you, cough) before I did anything to convince the other parts of the team(whoever reads the blog's comments)to consider making it an island. I really think you'll like this island but could you like figure out a way for me to send you the designs? Thank you also your video game rocks:D By the way if you like my island my sister anna(aka shy popper)gets part credit because she helped a lot.

P.s this explains why there used to be 2 wimpy kid islands:)

  8. I've been playing poptropica since I was 8, I'm 22 now. I remember when it was just an ad on the corner of funbrain's website. Boy am I glad I clicked on it, because it's been the loveliest constant in my life. Playing most other games gives me insane anxiety but Poptropica is so loveable that I always come back to it like an old friend. Thanks Mr. Kinney for Poptropica, but also for shaping my youth as a whole! :)

  9. Poptropica is a true childhood classic for me. I have been playing this game since it released, in 2007. I was 6 years old then, but I am 19 years old now. I have not played in a number of years, but I decided to come back for nostalgic reasons. After just a short time playing shark tooth island (my favorite), I found myself hooked all over again! I have now already replayed over half of old islands, each one of them a true classic. I remember playing Poptropica in school all the time and I could never beat spy island, so coming back all these years and finally getting that medallion was very satisfying. I hope Poptropica never goes away. Thanks for the memories Jeff, and for 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid', those were my favorite books growing up.

  11. I've been playing Poptropica since I was 6. I'm fifteen now, and when I look back on my childhood, one thing stands above the crowd. Poptropica. It inspired me to make my own Flash games, it inspired my school newspaper comic strip, and most of all, it inspired me to learn. I played Mythology Island and became hooked on history. I love learning about history and mythology. After Skullduggery, I learned all bout pirates and their myths and legends. I also learned to sail. Your game had such a big impact on me, that I am affected by it even today.
I seriously can't thank you enough for making my childhood, a single letter can't contain my gratitude.
    Thank you,
    Wild Skull

  14. I've been working on several realms for a really long time. One of them I've worked on since Poptropica Realms first came out! I want to dedicate all of them to Jeff Kinney and to all of those who made Poptropica, as a way to show my gratitude and hopefully to be a creative inspiration too. They are not complete, however, and I’m not sure they’ll ever be, but I will still be re-sharing these realms a lot as I update them. My realm codes are w3r7r, w3r7v, 3h6ch, w3qvq, and w3qvy. And like I said before, I will keep working on these realms, so if anyone wants to see them again later on, like maybe a few weeks, or even a few months, I will have hopefully improved all these realms by then. I also want to give a shoutout to Jeff Kinney, the very creator of Poptropica, and to everyone who has helped with this spectacular website! We have enjoyed all of your Poptropica islands so much and we know how hard you all worked to build the islands, so I hope that my realms that I’m sharing to all of you are a good way to give back to you guys, because I put a lot of effort into my realms, too. I hope you enjoy all 5 of them (or at least one of them), and THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR MAKING AND KEEPING POPTROPICA POSSIBLE!

  17. I've had my Poptropica account since 2008 and ever since I've completed every single island. I do have a couple of questions though. I notice some of the islands aren't on the map, where are they? Also when will a new island come out? Thanks/gracias!

  19. I started playing Poptropica nearly 10 years ago. It was so amazing, I had to play every island. I created another account and between the two I've played every island and most of them four times. I still play and I can't wait for the next island. Thank you Mr. Kinney for the game and the incredible memories created playing on Poptropica!
